AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer: I am sorry to fans
AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer insists their thrashing by Inter Milan was misleading.
Kjaer says the clash was closer than the 5-1 scoreline suggested.
“A result like this, in a derby, really weighs on you. I am sorry to the fans, but Inter were smarter than us in some situations. We were in it until the third goal. It is a journey we are on and we must go back to work from tomorrow," Kjaer told DAZN.
“We were in it until the third goal. Inter did not create that many scoring opportunities, but they scored two goals, and that is how they play.
“We knew that this was Inter's style, but hoped that with our way of playing, we could win it playing in the Milan style. They did well above all with the runs from their midfielders, so we need to work on that.
“The main thing is that Milan will always aim to play our style of football, even against Inter. The project continues and we must not forget all the good work that has been done so far."
