Arsenal defender Ben White is set to be the next player to commit his long-term future with the club. The England international has been an ever-stay in Mikel Arteta's side since completing his £50million move from Brighton in 2021.
White, 25, has made 93 appearances in three seasons for the Gunners. Having initially arrived as a centre-back, White has adapted his game to become one of the Premier League's most consistent right-backs in Arteta's fluid system.
The former Leeds United defender's current contract has just under three years left to run, but there is an understanding at the club that White should be rewarded for his performances with a new deal.
According tothe Mirror, White is likely to be the next player at London Colney to be rewarded with a new contract. It comes after Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba all penned new deals after a successful 2022/23 season.
In the Amazon 'All or Nothing' documentary, Arteta described White as «brave», «really talented» and a «fighter». «He trains like he's playing the Champions League final,» he said. «That's why he's come a long way in such a short time in his career.
»Ben has the capacity to play in different positions and that's a big plus for any player."
