However, Peter Bosz's side went into the match with the intention of playing attacking football and this was ultimately their undoing. Speaking ahead of the game, Bosz spoke of courage, but perhaps in the end it was naïve.

Further to this, football.london spoke to Luuk de Jong after the game and asked him about the Eredivisie team’s approach. Although the plan was clear, De Jong felt that the Gunners were simply too good.
