Chelsea news as Blues supporters let their feelings be known to Mauricio Pochettino after Bournemouth team selection
Chelsea fans were delighted to see Mauricio Pochettino change things up for the trip to Bournemouth as the manager shuffled his lineup in favour of a more attacking system. Ben Chilwell was dropped to the bench after starting a host of games on the left-wing over his preferred left-back slot.
Chilwell was fielded in the unorthodox role surprisingly on the opening day against Liverpool. That was then followed up with the same system being used at West Ham, after that loss the temperatures started to rise. Having spent £62million to sign Mudryk in January, and with Pochettino touted as a potential savior for the Ukraine winger, his regular omission has been a point of contention within the fanbase.
Now, with Chelsea returning from the international break and looking to hit the ground running, Pochettino has selected a more attacking XI including Mudryk from the start. Enzo Fernandez has recovered from a long journey over the break and a match at 12,000 feet above sea-level to keep his place in the team, however midfield partner Moises Caicedo isn't present.
Malo Gusto is at right-back as he deputises for the injured Reece James whilst Axel Disasi continues next to Thiago Silva at centre-back with Levi Colwill in a makeshift left-back spot. There are a host of academy names on the bench once more as Alex Matos and Ronnie Stutter made their way into the squad.
It was the inclusion of Mudryk for his first start under Pochettino that got supporters most excited though. Here, football.london rounds up some of their thoughts ahead of the game.
