Chelsea look to have finally clicked into gear under Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues collected four points from a possible six on offer from their last two games, against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City respectively.
Pochettino's men also secured their spot in the League Cup quarter-final with a 2-0 defeat of Blackburn Rovers earlier this month. They are some way off the top four, though, with ten points needed to catch up with Tottenham.
There's still plenty of time remaining this season, though, and with Pochettino getting his players up to speed there is plenty of promise for what is left of the campaign. Chelsea's chances of returning to the Champions League could rest on any transfer business conducted in January.
Talk continues to swirl around a potential move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, while Brentford star Ivan Toney has also been mentioned as a possible target for the Blues. Interestingly, bookmaker SkyBet currently has Chelsea as favourites to complete a move for Osimhen, with the Nigeria international 8/1 to sign for Pochettino's men in the January transfer window. Arsenal are 10/1, while any Saudi Pro League Club are 12/1 to sign the 24 year-old.
He opened the door to speculation around his future in an interview earlier this week, saying «many friends of mine are Chelsea fans, few are Man United fans.» «Premier League is the most appreciated league by every African player — it's a huge league»
Up front is an area of obvious need for the Blues and while Nicolas Jackson is performing well, the club do need to sign an elite striker. Meanwhile the Blues are also favourites to give Jadon Sancho a London homecoming.
