Below, we've created a handy step-by-step guide that will help you through the process of making your very own autumn wreath.

Everything you need

There are a few must-have items when it comes to creating your own wreath. You'll need:

• A wire wreath ring
• Florist’s wire
• Sharp scissors and/or secateurs
• Moss or wreath-filling
• Foilage and decorative items
• String or hook

Once you have the basics and everything laid out - ideally alongside a plan of how you want your wreath to look - it's time to begin.

Step one - Create your shape

If your wire isn't already shaped, carefully cut it to the length and size you desire. If you loop the wire around itself several times it will help keep the shape of the wreath firm.

Wrapping the wire multiple times allows you to make the wreath thicker with the potential for more items. There's nothing wrong with a single wire loop but it will limit how items are laid on top. I'd suggest creating four loops in the shape of a cylinder that can later be packed with moss.

If you bought an already-formed wire wreath, you're good to go!

Step two - Fill the wreath

Take your moss, or whatever filling
