Folarin Balogun has got off to a dream start to life at his new club Monaco, scoring his first goal for the club just three minutes after coming off the bench during their their 2-2 draw against Lorient.
It was only his second appearance for the Ligue 1 outfit, but his goal was not enough to help Monaco secure three points against Lorient, with Romaine Favre scoring in the seventh minute of injury time to halve the spoils.
Balogun came on in the 66th minute as a substitute for Wissam Ben Yedder and was immediately involved in the action, scoring on the 69th minute after Aleksandr Golovin picked him out in the penalty area and he held off a defender before finishing with his left foot.
Balogun had making his debut during Monaco's 3-0 victory against Lens before the international break, returning an assist during that match.
The centre-forward bid farewell to Arsenal earlier this summer, after sealing a £34million move to the French outfit.
The 22-year-old, who scored 21 league goals while on loan at Remis last season, said it had been an honour to play for Arsenal before sealing a permanent move to France.
He he also claimed that former Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry had been a big influence in his decision to move to Monaco while also claiming it was an 'easy decision to join the club.'
He wrote on Instagram: 'With a heavy heart, I say goodbye to my boyhood club.' Balogun wrote on Instagram.
'I was 8-years-old when I first came to Hale End and every academy player walks through the gates and dreams of making their debut for the first team.
'My teammates, the coaches, the staff - thank you to all of you and I'm grateful for the times we shared. It's time for a new challenge and one that I'm excited for,' he added.
