Gary Neville has predicted Todd Boehly to make some major changes following Chelsea's defeat to Aston Villa. Ollie Watkins led Unai Emery's side to a 1-0 win over the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, scoring his first Premier League goal of the season.
Chelsea are now three games without a victory in the English top-flight and currently sit 14th with just five points after six games. Upon the final whistle, the west London outfit were met with a chorus of boos from the home support with pressure building on Mauricio Pochettino to turn things around.
Large sections of the fanbase also vented their frustration with the former Tottenham boss on social media, calling for a new manager already. With Pochettino beginning to face a somewhat uncertain future, Neville expects some movement at Cobham training in the coming weeks.
«What are Chelsea doing?!» said the former Manchester United defender on his podcast, as quoted by the Metro. «What is happening? I’ve got great faith in Mauricio Pochettino, but he’s got a huge pack of cards and he’s struggling to know which hand to play.
»It’s a mystery as to what’s happening at Chelsea. Sometimes chaos just flows throughout a club. I think there will be some changes in how they go about their business. I can’t see this lasting in terms of how it’s being run. It’s madness."
Neville has been a long critic of Boehly and his management of Chelsea. Earlier this summer, the 48-year-old accused the American billionaire of treating the west London club like a Football Manager save.
