Gary Neville has divided a lot of Chelsea supporters in recent times with his comments on how the club is being ran by Todd Boehly, but in his latest assessment of what is going on at Stamford Bridge, the Sky Sports pundit is spot on. Well at least I think so.
«It's just a little bit mad, isn't it? It's chaotic,» Neville said on his own podcast on Sunday evening. «The amount of players they have signed. I saw [Cole] Palmer come on today who they bought for £40million from City and you think, 'there's another one'.
»When you think of Manchester United, there's that lack of stability at the top of the club, there's that lack of surety. There's no doubt that with [Roman] Abramovich leaving and the Boehly project coming in, there's been anything but stability. In fact, it's been absolute madness in terms of every department in the club changing.
«So they just need to stop. They need to stop. Sometimes I say this in my own life. If I feel like I'm swinging in a roundabout too fast and need to get off, and not really do anything – just stop and allow people to continue and let things slow down.
»Because at the moment, it must be like that for Pochettino, for the players, for the fans, not knowing who is going to play from one game to the next. And yeah, when you have that type of project, it's a little bit mad. It doesn't look co-ordinated, it doesn't look like there is a principle. I know they've signed young players on long-term contracts but it's something I am not sure about.
«Mauricio Pochettino, I have great faith in as a coach, as I do Erik ten Hag, I think he's a fantastic coach. So I think for both clubs they need to let their managers almost work it out over a period of time. I think for both clubs it is going to take
