Jacob Murphy beams as UCL anthem plays ahead of Newcastle's clash with AC Milan

Fans have claimed Jacob Murphy is 'living the dream' after the Newcastle star was spotted beaming as the Champions League anthem played before their clash against AC Milan.

The winger was the surprise selection in Eddie Howe's starting XI as the Magpies made their return to Europe's elite competition after a 20-year absence.

Murphy appeared determined to enjoy the moment and was spotted smiling as the famous Champions League anthem played at San Siro before kick-off.

Fans were quick to praise the smiling 28-year-old as he prepared to make his  Champions League debut.

Murphy had joined the Magpies from Norwich in 2017, where he had spent time on loan with clubs in the Championship and League One.

He had also spent time away from Newcastle on loan with West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
