Hello and welcome to our LIVE Liverpool transfer blog for Friday, September 29.
According to a report from Spain, Liverpool and Manchester United are both eyeing Royal Antwerp teenager Arthur Vermeeren - but Barcelona are reportedly currently in the strongest position. Meanwhile another report from Spain claims that the Reds will try and sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid in January.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed yesterday that Fenway Sports Group’s search for investment in Liverpool has reached a conclusion, with the Reds owners reaffirming that they are not looking at an exit route from the club. New York-based Dynasty Equity, have taken a small minority position in the club, with the move designed to clear the club’s bank debt and not to fund transfer market activity. The value of the deal has not been disclosed but is understood to be between $100m and $200m. There will be no change in operational control at the football club.
