Manchester City extended their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 2-0 win at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland put City two up inside 14 minutes, with a repeat of last season's 6-0 drubbing on the cards. However, Rodri's loss of composure saw him sent off for shoving Morgan Gibbs-White in the throat and Pep Guardiola's side spent the second half with 10 men.
They held on for a clean sheet, however, and go into Wednesday's Carabao Cup third round tie at Newcastle United off the back of eight consecutive wins across all competitions. Guardiola might hope to rotate in midweek and could welcome back a few of his injured players.
