Manchester United fans have slammed the decision to award Bayern Munich a penalty during their Champions League tie after Christian Eriksen was penalised for handball.
Bayern Munich appealed for a spot kick after Dayot Upamecano's header from a corner struck the arm of the Danish midfielder.
Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg initially opted against awarding a penalty to the German champions, who were leading 2-1 after goals from Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.
The official changed his decision following a VAR review, with Harry Kane putting Bayern 3-1 up by converting the penalty in the group stage clash.
Man United fans criticised the awarding of the penalty, noting the short distance between Upamecano and Eriksen.
'Can’t believe they gave that penalty…are we actually cursed?' one fan wrote on social media.
'I def don’t understand why makes a penalty anymore,' added another.
'3-1, Kane penalty, was slightly harsh decision for handball,' wrote a third.
Ex-Man United defender Rio Ferdinand added to the criticism, posting 'Games gone… shambles'.
Another fan, however, suggested Eriksen had been at fault for giving the ball away in the build-up to the incident.
'Eriksen lost the ball very clumsily before the penalty situation,' a tweet read.
