Manchester United suffered a third successive defeat last night, losing 4-3 to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League.
After finding themselves 2-0 down at the half-time interval, United got themselves back into the contest four minutes after the restart when Rasmus Hojlund netted his first goal for the club. Hope of a comeback, however, was short-lived as Harry Kane restored Bayern's two-goal advantage from the penalty spot just four minutes later.
A flurry of late goals, two of which were scored by Casemiro either side of a Mathys Tel strike, meant an entertaining ending to the encounter, but United ran out of steam in their hopes of salvaging a positive result. It means Erik ten Hag's side are now under huge pressure to get a result against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The Reds have now conceded 14 goals in all competitions so far this season - the most of any Premier League club. They have also lost four of their opening six matches of a season in all competitions for the first time since 1986.
However, United can ill afford to dwell on events in Germany, as they must prepare for the trip to Burnley.
