As is usually the case before a game, Arsenal have uploaded footage from training. The latest video goes behind the scenes at London Colney from Monday's session ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash against RC Lens.
The main talking point, of course, was the return of Thomas Partey. A groin injury sustained in training on the eve of the Manchester United fixture last month subsequently saw the 30-year-old miss the 3-1 victory as well as games after the international break against Everton, PSV Eindhoven, Tottenham, Brentford and Bournemouth.
Back in contention, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the midfielder is available for selection against Lens which is an additional boost considering his side welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium in a huge Premier League clash at the weekend:
«He's progressed really well in the last two weeks and he managed to train in the last two or three days with the team and that’s great news for us obviously,» the Spaniard told reporters. «I don’t know [if Partey will feature]. I think his progression in the last week has been very good.
»He might have some exposure tomorrow depending on how the game goes. He's a big player and we know what he brings to the team. He knows exactly what we need and with the injuries we had to other players in midfield and at the back he complements us in a great way and gives us options. So it's great to have him back again."
So with Partey rejoining his teammates in training, Arteta and his coaching staff being able to put nearly every single senior player — aside from Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring) and Jurrien Timber (ACL) through their paces during the session was the only other note of real importance.
