The Quarter Final results see one Member Federation side, Melbourne Knights FC (Football VIC), remain in the competition. They are joined by Isuzu UTE A-League Men teams, Brisbane Roar FC, Melbourne City FC and Sydney FC – the last of the record 775 clubs that participated this season – vying to be crowned Australia Cup winners.
The Semi Final Draw – undertaken directly after Sydney FC’s victory at Leichhardt Oval – will see the Melbourne Knights FC host Brisbane Roar FC, while Sydney FC will also travel south to take on Melbourne City FC.
Two Australia Cup heavyweights will kick-off proceedings for the 2023 Semi Finals on Sunday 24 September at 3.00pm AEST as 2016 winners, Melbourne City FC, host 2017 winners, Sydney FC in what shapes as an epic encounter at Melbourne’s AAMI Park. It was a tale of two Quarter Finals for both teams, with Sydney FC dominating Western United FC to walk away 3-0 winners, while Melbourne City FC secured a last-gasp victory against MetroStars SC in stoppage time at T.K. Shutter Reserve, Adelaide on Thursday evening.
After a dramatic come-from-behind victory over their Victorian NPL rivals, Heidelberg United FC – also on Thursday night – Melbourne Knights FC will host Brisbane Roar FC, who will make the trip to Melbourne in a rich vein of form under new Head Coach, Ross Aloisi. Following their commanding 4-2 victory over the Western Sydney Wanderers FC, the Roar will be looking to secure their first Australia Cup Final appearance with a win at Knights Stadium, Sunshine North on Sunday 24 September at 6.00pm AEST.
The hosting clubs of the respective Australia Cup 2023 Semi Finals – Melbourne Knights FC and Melbourne City FC – will release ticketing details via their own channels in due course.
