Meghan Markle left in tears during final match of Invictus Games

Meghan Markle was left in tears as the highly anticipated Invictus Games with Prince Harry came to an end over the weekend.

The Duke of Sussex was seen putting a comforting arm around his emotional wife as they displayed a united front at the competition.

The Duchess of Sussex was snapped appearing teary-eyed during the sixth day of the Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, on September 15, as she wiped away tears during a medal ceremony for the veterans, according to the Mail Online.

Footage captured the moving moment when the 42-year-old Duchess was reduced to tears as the crowd enthusiastically cheered with applause after she hugged and chatted to the winning competitors who received gold medals.

Meghan displayed a rollercoaster of emotions as she cheered and joked during the riveting game before she began weeping at the end, the Express reports.

On the other hand, Prince Harry roared and jumped for joy when the final points were scored and the match drew to a close.

On the Saturday evening, both the duke and duchess appeared to be in high spirits as the 2023 Invictus Games came to an end.

The couple cheered as they looked on during the closing ceremony, which featured performances from British stars such as Rita Ora and Sam Ryder.

The Invictus Games, which were founded by Prince Harry in 2014, is a Paralympic-style sporting competition which sees injured ex-servicemen and women compete in a number of gruelling sport events.

The duke, 39, is said to have created the games after being inspired by the Warrior Games in Colorado.

The first ever Invictus Games were held in London in 2014 and Harry and Meghan chose to make their first public appearance as a couple at the Games in 2017, which were held in Toronto.
