Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou ahead of Sunday's North London derby between the two sides. Both the Gunners and Spurs have enjoyed a stellar start to the 2023/24 campaign, winning four and drawing one of their first five Premier League games.
They are now set to do battle at the Emirates Stadium this weekend, with Arteta hailing his counterpart ahead of the Australian's first game against the Lillywhites' arch-rivals. Speaking about Postecoglou in his pre-match press conference, the Spaniard said: «I really like him.
»I had players and I know players who had him and they always speak really, really highly of him. Obviously, that is not a coincidence.
«You can tell straight away that he is fitting in right away. That is the beauty of this league we have top, top managers, top competition and every game is very difficult.»
Arsenal enjoyed an excellent return to the UEFA Champions League this week when they defeated PSV Eindhoven 4-0 on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard. Meanwhile, Tottenham are without any form of European football this season after finishing eighth.
