This dashcam footage shows the moment a former Bolton Wanderers footballer ran from his Range Rover after a dramatic police chase.
Officers tried to pull over Gary Madine - who made 96 appearances for Bolton between 2015 and 2018 - in Gateshead in the early hours of the morning on April 3 this year, Chronicle Live reports. But the striker led police on a chase, before crashing his Range Rover into a Ford Focus and trying to run from the scene.
A court was told how the 33-year-old, who most recently played for Blackpool, realised he had been 'ridiculously stupid' after the footage caught him weaving in and out of parked cars on residential streets. He was banned from driving for a year.

Newcastle Crown Court was told previously how officers were on patrol in Birtley in Gateshead at around 1.50am on April 3. They attended a scene where there had been complaints about a group of men in a Range Rover causing a disturbance in the street.
When they got there, other officers were present with a man and the Range Rover pulled up, driven by Madine. Mark Atkins, prosecuting, said: "The vehicle began to make off and ignored instructions by the police to stop.
"The police officer got into his car and followed the defendant and activated his blue lights and siren. During the police pursuit, he drove dangerously.
"There's footage of the pursuit from the dash cam of the police car. During the chase, the defendant collided with a white Ford Focus parked outside a house. on a path."
