Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been supported by his club after his defeat in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations with his national team, Nigeria, against Ivory Coast, the hosts of the tournament.
The Neapolitan club posted a message of consolation for their striker on social media. "Regardless of the result, you made us and your country proud. Well done, Victor!," wrote the Italian club on Twitter.
With this show of affection, the club presided over by De Laurentiis wants to look after a vital player for the future of the club's season and try to keep a key player committed, who is likely to leave Naples in the summer.
The most immediate challenge facing the Italians and for which they want to have the Nigerian at 100% is the Champions League round of 16 tie against FC Barcelona. With their chances of repeating the 'Scudetto' almost impossible and eliminated from the Cup, the European tournament is Napoli's main chance to do something big this season.Read on besoccer.com
