Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has hit back at 'totally false' claims made by a man who allegedly acted as a translator for the Spanish national team during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
As per Spanish outlet The Objective, Alex Pena claimed to have worked with the international side during the tournament, and has since made a number of allegations about the behaviour of a number of players, including Carvajal, Nacho Monreal, and former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Pena shared details about the players' alleged conduct on nights out at the tournament in a little-seen YouTube interview with Che America Latina in 2022, but the eyecatching content of the clip failed to gain traction at the time.
But after the video resurfaced on social media, the defender waded in to deny the Pena's allegations, which evoked a disturbing party atmosphere amidst the camp.
In one incident, Pena alleges, he was brought along to translate on a night out with Carvajal, Monreal, and De Gea, and used his Russian to invite a waitress to join them.
'We went to a hotel suite,' Pena claimed. 'They ordered vodka and a hookah pipe. Suddenly, Carvajal asked me to tell (the woman) that he 'wanted to put his c*** down her throat.'
Pena later claimed that De Gea - who The Objective states was romantically involved with his now-wife Edurne Garcia at the time - spent the night with the woman.
The so-called translator added that 'Carvajal did not understand having been rejected as a Real Madrid player'.
As attention on the claims gained traction on social media, Carvajal was quick to dismiss the allegations in the strongest possible terms.
