Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has trolled Tottenham Hotspur during a conversation with Bayern Munich frontman Harry Kane. The England captain decided to leave Spurs during the summer transfer window, joining Bayern in a deal worth £100million initially and potentially up to £120million with add-ons.
The 30-year-old has adjudged quickly to life in Germany, scoring four goals in his first four Bundesliga outings before netting on Wednesday evening during the Bavarian giants' 4-3 Champions League victory over Manchester United. After the full-time whistle, Kane did an interview with CBS Sports, with Henry making a joke comparing Bayern's kit to Arsenal's.
«Harry, it's Thierry,» the Gunners icon said. «Congratulations first and foremost.
»You look good in red and white (laughs). Sorry, I had to say it."
Kane laughed at the comment, which was clearly in good spirits ahead of Sunday's highly-anticipated North London Derby between the two sides. It will be Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou's first clash against the Gunners since arriving in N17, with both teams going into the match in impressive form.
Both Spurs and Arsenal have won four of their opening five Premier League fixtures, a record that only reigning champions Manchester City can better. Ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium, Kane has admitted that he will be keeping an eye out on how his old side does.
When asked about Tottenham's start to the season, he replied: «Fantastic start, I am always keeping an eye on them and I think I will for the rest of my life. I am really happy to see the team playing the way they are and of course to see the fans happy as well is a great thing.
