Tottenham Hotspur supporters are torn over their feelings towards former talisman Harry Kane. Just weeks after leaving the club, many Spurs fans watched the England captain in Bayern Munich colours for the first time on Wednesday night.
The Bundesliga giants welcomed the Red Devils to the Allianz Arena in their mouth-watering Champions League opener. On the hour mark, the result looked a foregone conclusion for the home side but a late flurry of goals saw the game ultimately finish 4-3.
Kane assisted Leroy Sane for the opener, caressing the ball with his back to goal before the ex-Manchester City winger smashed home from 20 yards. Shortly after half-time, the 30-year-old buried a spot-kick into the bottom corner to put his new side 3-1 up.
Thomas Tuchel withdrew Kane late on after watching the £100million man bag his fifth goal for the club in as many games. While Tottenham fans may have been gutted when the striker left last month, a positive start to the season under Ange Postecoglou has negated the negativity.
Spurs are unbeaten in their first five Premier League games — winning four — and head into this weekend’s North London Derby full of confidence. One fan felt apathetic towards Kane after seeing him line up for Bayern.
“First time watching Kane since he left,” he posted on social media. “Does anyone else have absolutely no feelings for him at all? Like he never played for us. It's odd.
“Teddy [Sheringham] killed, Berba (Dimitar Berbatov) hurt, and with [Gareth] Bale, I was gutted. Harry, meh. I’ve no idea why.”
