Mauricio Pochettino made his Chelsea squad sit down and watch clips of the yellow cards they have picked up so far this season as he tried to rid ill-discipline from his side.
The Blues have already amassed 47 yellow cards this season, more than any other team in the Premier League. Incredibly, almost half of those bookings have been given for offences other than fouls.
Amongst the charges on Chelsea's rap sheet in the Premier League this season are seven yellows for dissent, seven for time wasting, five for arguing and one for not retreating from an opposition free-kick in time.
Pochettino is hoping that by showing his players the footage of the yellow cards they've accumulated this season it will help ahead of their trip to Old Trafford this evening to take on Manchester United.
«We were talking in the meeting and I showed the players clips of the yellow cards,» Pochettino said. «There have been too many. The rules have changed this season. We touch the ball from here to there and get too many yellow cards. That is a tic we need to change. We need to be clever.
»You upset the referee and you get a yellow card, and then in an action that can happen during a game, you can receive another yellow card. We have received too many yellow cards like this.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer makes Manchester United prediction ahead of Old Trafford visit
«We were talking about Nico Jackson and the yellow cards were for complaining to the referee. The opponent made the foul, but didn’t receive a yellow card. You complain why not, and you get a yellow card. We need to be clever in improving this area because we cannot be silly and repeat the same mistakes.»
