Exemplar Health Care, a provider of nursing care for adults with complex needs, is now recruiting for its new £5.8 million care home in Knowsley. Development of Fernwood started in March of this year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
The care home is looking for dedicated and compassionate healthcare staff to join its new team. Over 80 new jobs have been created, with recruitment underway for healthcare assistants, registered nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and a range of other support roles. Prior to the first residents moving into the home, successful candidates will start working at the beginning of next year, after completing a comprehensive induction and training programme.
Full details on all the jobs on offer, as well as how to apply, can be found on the Exemplar Health Care careers website. Anyone who is interested can also keep up to date with the home on its Facebook page.
When open, Fernwood will support adults living with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia and physical disabilities. Without the new home, individuals needing this type of complex care might otherwise have to live permanently in a hospital environment.
The home, located on Knowsley Lane, will have 28 bedrooms with ensuite wetrooms, split across two communities. With this small group living model, Exemplar Health Care has found it can provide a far more supportive environment that is more responsive to people's needs. Each community has a dining room, lounge, quiet lounge, and a sensory bathroom. In addition, there is an activities hub, therapy room, hair salon, and a large accessible garden.
