The likes of Gambia, Nigeria, Algeria and Egypt will all be back in action on Thursday, as they commence their respective round of African 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
As another main attraction fixture this week, the Super Eagles will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Thursday evening in Group C.
Nigeria has been one of the best performing African sides in the last year, having booked their spot in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in emphatic fashion.
Elsewhere, Gambia will travel to the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium where they will take on Burundi in their Group F encounter. Much like that of Nigeria, Gambia head into their World Cup qualifiers on the back of an impressive Afcon bid.
Then, a star-studded Egypt side will face minnows Djibouti at the Cairo International Stadium on Thursday. As a key matchup in Group A, The Pharaohs will hope to commence their World Cup qualification on a strong note after missing out on the showpiece last year.
