Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati has been named the 2023 The Best FIFA Women's Player, adding to her growing list of individual awards.
Having already claimed a World Cup Golden Ball, UEFA Women's Player of the Year and the Ballon d'Or, the 25-year-old beat fellow nominees Linda Caicedo and Jenni Hermoso to claim the prize for the first time in her career.
Bonmati was the leading favourite to take home the gong, having won the World Cup with Spain alongside a treble at club level with Barca.
She previously picked up the Ballon d'Or Feminin back in October, beating a host of England stars including Rachel Daly, Millie Bright, Mary Earps and Georgia Stanway, after winning Liga F and the Champions League.
Bonmati was also an integral part of the Spain squad that lifted the World Cup in August against the odds after a dispute between players and management, being named the best player at the tournament.
She succeeds fellow Spaniard Alexia Putellas as the latest winner of the Best FIFA Women's Player. Her Barcelona teammate had claimed the award in both 2021 and 2022, with Lucy Bronze successful back in 2020.
Carli Lloyd, Lieke Martens, Marta and Megan Rapinoe are the other previous winners.
