Ajax reach agreement in principle with OGC Nice for Francesco Farioli
According to Foot Mercato, Ajax have reached an agreement in principle with OGC Nice over the transfer of manager Francesco Farioli.
Farioli, who has spent just one year at Nice since his summer move from Turkey in 2023, led Le Gym back to Europe in his debut campaign in Ligue 1. Despite a significant blip in mid-season, Les Aiglons finished well, finishing in fifth, which is good enough for a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League.
However, there is a revolution afoot. Not only has the departure of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi already been confirmed, but the manager is now also set to depart. Reports suggest that the Italian already has an agreement in place with Ajax. The Eredivisie side, however, had to find an agreement with Nice too before a deal could be completed.
Foot Mercato understand that an agreement in principle has been reached. Only the final details have to be sorted before Farioli’s departure from Nice is confirmed.
