Andre Trindade holds talks with Man Utd star Casemiro as Liverpool transfer stance clear
Fluminense’s Andre Trindade was a target for Liverpool in the summer but the club saw their approach rebuffed by the Brazilian side.
In the previous transfer window, defensive midfield proved to be a problem position for the Reds, who were beaten to the signings of both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo by Chelsea, in their attempts to replace Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. Liverpool eventually snapped up Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, but not before the club had shown interest in Andre.
The 22-year-old has been the star of the Fluminense side that won the Copa Libertadores in November and is set to face Manchester City in the Club World Cup final. However, that could prove to be one of Andre’s final games for his boyhood club as the Brazil international has admitted his desire to play in England, leading to links with Fulham, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

"I watch the Premier League and it's a big dream to play there," he said. "I'm focused on finishing the season with Fluminense and realising our own dream of winning the Club World Cup. But my dream is clear, to be a Premier League player."
ESPN have reported that Fluminense are targeting a club-record sale for the midfielder, in the region of €35m (£29.5m). It is claimed that, since making his international debut for Brazil in June, Andre has been ‘keen to take advice’ from Casemiro and is viewed as a successor to the United midfielder.
