Ange Postecoglou gave Tottenham supporters plenty to smile about with his appearance on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning.
The Australian boss was a special guest of Jim White and Simon Jordan as he discussed his hopes and ambition for Spurs following a successful start to the season.
Postecoglou was put to task about Spurs' early exit from this season's Carabao Cup, while also being quizzed on the performances of James Maddison, a frank conversation with Yves Bissouma after pre-season and Lionel Messi's praise of Cristian Romero.
Reflecting on the interview, Jordan said: “He’s a grown-up and it’s a grown-up conversation.
“He’s the archetypal Australian with this culture of speaking plainly and succinctly and telling you what their expectations of circumstances are and not looking for blame attribution or making it everybody else’s fault.
“We will see as the relationship unfolds and the key aspects that have come into play previously under Daniel [Levy] and Ange come to pass but in the initial instance you’ve got there a manager who wants to be there.
“What you heard there was a substantial football manager talking in terms that weren’t driven by motive or selfish reasons, it was driven by determination and wanting to be there.
“This is an interview at a time when things are going his way and I’d like to see what kind of manager he is under adversity, but listening to that, I think Tottenham fans will say it’s an interesting interview with no grandstanding, no BS in that conversation – if you ask him a question you’ll get an answer."
Jordan added: «This guy feels, for me, with the fit of Tottenham Hotspur, the right fit. He sees Tottenham Hotspur as the opportunity, not the stepping stone.
