SSE Airtricity First Division: Finn Harps 0 Cork City 2
Unbeaten Cork City made it eight wins in 12 matches as they struck with two goals in an 11 minute period in the second half to bag the points against Finn Harps at Finn Park.
Following a corner the hugely experienced Greg Bolger set up Sean Murray to head home for the opener on 62 minutes.
And 11 minutes later substitute Jaden Umeh struck after a defensive lapse by Noe Baba and he slotted the ball past Tim Heimer to effectively seal the issue for high-flying City at the top of the First Division.
In the end there was much to be pleased about for City boss Tim Clancy as the table-toppers kept what was a ninth clean sheet of the campaign.
For Harps this was a third defeat on the spin, and their early season good run seems to have halted.
That said, the Donegal side were much the better outfit before the break, and a misfiring City had to play second fiddle for much of the first half.
Harps conjured up the first opening on eight minutes with Luke O’Brien floating in a free from the right but Matthew Makinson, although in space, was unable to connect with the header that was required.
