Araujo's camp would welcome Barcelona exit

Barcelona have all but written off their season. The defeat to Real Madrid makes a comeback in the race for La Liga title practically impossible and, having already been eliminated from the Champions League, they have no other objectives in sight than finishing second and playing in the next Spanish Super Cup.

The club is therefore beginning to look to the market to reinforce its squad. One of the key points of this summer, as in previous ones, is that they need to have the liquidity to bring in players. Right now, Barcelona's coffers are not at their best.

That is why they can opt for an important exit in order to generate income. The name given by 'Sport' is that of Araujo, of whom a possible sale has already begun to be leaked.

The same media outlet claims that, despite the fact that the player does not want to leave Barcelona, the player's entourage is beginning to look favourably on a move away from the Catalan side.

Those closest to Araujo have not liked the renewal offer made to him by Barcelona and have left the door open to a possible negotiation for his sale this summer.

Araujo is one of the players with the highest profile in Xavi's squad -who could finally continue- and for whom they could get around 80 million euros.

'Sport' warns that Barcelona could have to sell more players if they want to bring in as many more. One of the conditions Xavi has set to continue is that the squad must be reinforced and not remain the same as this year.
