Arsenal have already dropped an early team news hint ahead of their final Champions League group stage clash against PSV Eindhoven this evening. The Gunners have already secured qualification for the last-16 as Group B winners following their 6-0 win against Lens last time out in Europe.
Mikel Arteta has the opportunity to rest a number of key players in the midst of a hectic fixture schedule with Arsenal locked in a fierce Premier League title race with Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa. Both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli missed training this week, whilst Emile Smith Rowe returned after recovering from injury.
football.london understands that Martinelli was unwell on Monday morning and is therefore likely to remain in England. Meanwhile, Saka has a knock in his foot but is still expected to travel to the Netherlands.
As for Smith Rowe, while he has returned to training, is it unclear whether he will make the matchday squad. Arteta has the chance to rotate his starting XI which may see the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Jakub Kiwior, Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny all handed rare starts.
With Martinelli and Saka both doubts to face PSV this evening, it could see Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson all start against the Dutch outfit this evening. The Gunners have hinted that the Belgian forward may be in line for a start after posting a pre-match graphic on their X (formerly Twitter) account — using Trossard as the featured player.
