Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson believes Mohamed Salah is sure to leave the Reds this summer in a prediction that will surely serve as a huge boost to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in next season's title race.
Fans of Liverpool are still shocked from hearing that this season will be the last one for manager Jurgen Klopp before he takes a break. If Salah also leaves in the summer, it could make it hard for Liverpool to try and win the title next year. But Lawrenson seems to think it has already been decided.
Salah was talked about a lot last summer, with people wondering if he would stay or go. Then he signed a new contract with Liverpool, saying he would stay for three more years.
But Salah's contract will end in the summer of 2025. So, the end of this season is probably the last chance for Liverpool to sell him and get some money back. Lawrenson believes Liverpool will decide to sell Salah later this year.
Lawrenson told Paddy Power: «100 per cent Mo Salah will definitely leave this summer. No matter what happens this season, I think there was a deal last summer.
»He'll go and play somewhere like Saudi Arabia and hopefully Liverpool get a massive fee and get a couple of players off the back of it. Salah will be a king in Saudi!
«He could've gone last summer and stormed into Jurgen Klopp's office and said 'I want to go' but he's not done that. The lads who have come in [in Salah's absence] know that they're fighting for their position, which is great, as long as a couple of them don't get injured.»
Lawrenson continued by saying that even if Salah leaves, Liverpool's attack still has plenty of stars. But Manchester City and Arsenal in particular will be looking at this and rubbing their hands if one of the Premier
