Arsenal 'offer Jorginho new contract and he is expected to sign it'

Arsenal have reportedly put a new deal on the table for Jorginho.

Jorginho's contract is up in the summer and it includes an option to extend for 12 months.

However, Arsenal want to reward Jorginho for his importance and have offered him fresh terms, which he is expected to agree to, according to The Athletic.

He signed his existing contract in January 2023 when he joined the club for £12million from Chelsea.

At 32, he shows every sign of still being a top-level midfielder and has managed 35 appearances this season.

He often features from the bench, something that could be frustrating for some former Champions League winners, but Mikel Arteta paid tribute to his top-notch attitude.

'For all the kids at the club, if you want to look at somebody, just look at him,' he said in February after the Gunners beat Liverpool 3-1.

'He’s won everything but you ask him not to play or play one minute last week he’s happy to go there. Ask him to play 90 minutes at that rhythm and he’s able to do that. I’m really lucky to have players like this.
