With the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM running throughout July and August, the Australia Cup 2023 Round of 32 games have been scheduled on the tournament’s rest days, giving football fans and those new to the game an opportunity to attend matches in their respective states.
The Australia Cup 2023 Final Rounds will get underway in Northern NSW, with Broadmeadow Magic FC hosting last year’s finalists, Sydney United 58 FC at Magic Park on Friday 4 August. While in Redcliffe (QLD), Peninsula Power FC will test themselves against the travelling Wellington Phoenix FC – the first of six matchups between National Premier Leagues (NPL) and A-League Men sides.
Goulburn Valley Suns FC – plying their trade in Victoria’s NPL3 – will welcome APIA Leichhardt FC to John McEwen Reserve, Shepparton during Match Day 2 on Wednesday 9 August, with the Devonport City Strikers heading north to the Croatian Sports Centre, Carrara to face the Gold Coast Knights FC. Those matches will be followed by four-time Final Rounds entrant, Floreat Athena FC taking on the Western Sydney Wanderers FC at Kingsway Reserve, Madeley at 8.30pm AEST (6.30pm local).
Moreton Bay United FC will host three-time Australia Cup quarter finalists, Heidelberg United FC on Thursday 10 August at 7.30pm AEST, while Hellenic Athletic FC will face Inter Lions FC at Darwin Football Stadium.
A Victorian derby is locked in for Match Day 4 on Sunday 14 August, as Oakleigh Cannons FC meet 2017 Cup winners, Melbourne City FC at Jack Edwards Reserve at 2.00pm AEST. This will be followed by reigning Isuzu UTE A-League Men Champions, the Central Coast Mariners up against Australia Cup heavyweights, Sydney FC at a venue still to be confirmed.
