This Monday at midday, the Twitter profile of a boy called Julen posted a video in which Inigo Martinez can be seen confronting a young fan. The incident appears to have taken place after a Barcelona training session. You can see how the former Athletic player gets out of his car to directly berate the boy at a very close distance from his face and between shouts of indignation.
"The last time you call me a fool, did you hear? The last, uh, the last time you insult me and your friend, the same. The last time you insult me. No, no, the last time you insult me, did you hear? The last time. And don't get cocky because I shit on God, kid. The last time you insult me," shouts the defender before returning to his vehicle.
There has been no reaction so far from either the club or the player, although, given the magnitude and the length of the discussion, it is quite likely that there will be a public response to explain the matter. The matter has reached the point that even international journalists such as Fabrizio Romano have echoed the mess to highlight the defender's great anger.
This is not the first time that an elite player has been confronted by a youngster waiting for him outside a training session. Barcelona have already had a case of Joao Cancelo, who refused a photograph and some autographs to a boy before saying that the reason for his refusal was that he realised that they usually use these gifts to sell them on the internet later on. With Inigo, it has not yet been possible to verify his version.
