Barca striker Robert Lewandowski hits out at Spanish refereeing
Robert Lewandowski is not having an easy start to the season. Although he managed to score against Villarreal and get a goal off his back, he hasn't had good feelings in the first three matchdays of this La Liga. As a result of this discomfort, the player has identified a serious problem: refereeing.
In an interview with 'Eleven Sports', Lewandowski spoke frankly about refereeing and didn't hold back. "La Liga is not attractive enough in terms of attacking play. The referees are killing the league," confessed the Polish forward.
He's not comfortable in Xavi's system nor against the opponents who are constantly marking him, as he already experienced in the Getafe match. His criticism of the referees is accompanied by criticism of the style of play that La Liga teams adopt, at times far from seeking attacking football and trying to keep the ball rolling for as few minutes as possible.
Precisely this week, FC Barcelona visits Osasuna at El Sadar, a stadium where Robert Lewandowski was sent off last season. On that occasion, Gil Manzano showed him a double yellow card for dissent, and his gesture while leaving the field cost him a three-match suspension. Now, the Polish player will want to regain his best form to match the performance of the new signings who have recently arrived at the club.
