Xavi Alonso-managed Bayer Leverkusen staged a stunning late comeback to settle for a 2-2 stalemate versus Roma in their UEFA Europa League semifinal second leg on Thursday (May 9). Leverkusen went past SL Benfica's 59-year-old strong record (48) and will now look to make it 50 unbeaten games in a row with a win in the Europa League final against Atlanta on May 23. Meanwhile, Atlanta went past Marseille 3-0 (4-1 on aggregate) in the second semifinal.
Talking about Leverkusen's astonishing record, they achieved it by overcoming a 2-0 deficit from Roma. Roma got into the lead soon after conceding two goals from the penalty spot by Leanrdo Parades.
