Bristol City reject Bournemouth's £15m bid for young midfielder Alex Scott as the Robins want £25m
Bristol City have rejected a bid of £15m plus add ons for midfielder Alex Scott from Bournemouth who is valued at £25m and is also wanted by West Ham.
The 19-year-old impressed during his 42 appearances for the Robins last term, scoring once and claiming five assists in the Championship, where he was named Young Player of the Season in England's second tier.
It has led to a Premier League bidding war for the 'Guernsey Grealish' - so called for his Channel Island heritage, and the similarities to Manchester City's Jack Grealish.
Inter Milan were also previously thought to be mulling over the prospect of an £18m bid for the midfielder, who turns 20 in August.
Scott made three appearances with England in the the Under-20 World Cup in Argentina this summer.
West Ham are seeking a probable replacement for the outgoing Declan Rice, while Bournemouth want to solidify their squad ahead of another tilt at the Premier League toboggan run.
Wolves were also thought to be involved in the race for Scott's signature.
But Bournemouth are the first side to be making a serious attempt to sign the 19-year-old, even if their initial bid was below Bristol City's expectations, especially as he was named the club's Player of the Year for his showing last term.
Despite his lack of top flight experience, the Robins believe Scott to be worth a minimum of £25m to them.
Head coach Nigel Pearson told Bristol World: 'It's got to be more than £25million, he shouldn't go for less than that. Since he made his debut for us he's played 80 odd games, so he's been a regular.'
Bristol City's Championship campaign begins at home to Preston North End on August 5 - although Scott may not be involved if the big guns are willing to spend big for the midfielder.
