Welcome to our live blog of the Carabao Cup semi-final draw.
Liverpool booked their place in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup after a 5-1 victory over West Ham United thanks to goals from Dominik Szboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones (2) and Mohamed Salah.
Fulham advanced to the semi-finals courtesy of a penalty shoot-out victory over Everton at Goodison Park. Similarly, Chelsea scored a late equaliser and required penalties to eliminate Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
There was also an all-EFL clash as Middlesbrough earned a 3-0 win at League One club Port Vale. The three Premier League teams will view Michael Carrick’s Championship side as their easiest path to a Wembley final.
The draw for the semi-finals takes place after Liverpool’s tie with West Ham. It is expected to begin at around 10pm. The first legs of the semi-final games will take place in the week commencing January 8, with the return fixtures being held on the week commencing January 22.
