Football Australia is pleased to announce that Casey Reibelt will officiate this Saturday’s 2023-24 Liberty A-League Women’s Grand Final between Melbourne City FC and Sydney FC at AAMI Park in Melbourne.
Saturday’s Grand Final will be Reibelt’s third appointment as the referee for a W-League/ALW Grand Final, having also whistled the 2013 decider between Melbourne Victory FC and Brisbane Roar FC at Lakeside Stadium, and last year’s match between Western United FC and Sydney FC at CommBank Stadium in Sydney.
Reibelt has also been a grand final additional assistant referee (AAR) in both 2019 and 2022, as well as fourth official on four occasions (2009, 2012, 2013, 2015).
In further exciting news for Reibelt, the Football Queensland product has been acknowledged for her outstanding season, being named the 2023-24 Liberty A-League Women Referee of the Year.
Supporting Reibelt will be Assistant Referees Emma Kocbek (Football NSW) and Maggie Price (Football NSW), along with Fourth Official Georgia Ghirardello (Capital Football) and Fifth Official Paula Orlandi (Football South Australia). Renae Coghill (Football Queensland) has also been appointed as Referee Coach for the match, herself a three-time grand final assistant referee (2015, 2016, 2019).
Kocbek (Football NSW) and Price (Football NSW) will feature in their first Liberty A-League Grand Final, however, they have both been involved in previous deciders, with Price appointed as Fourth Official in 2022, and Kocbek as Fifth Official last year.
Football Australia Head of Referees Nathan Magill said all the officials are deserving of their appointments following strong domestic seasons.
