Outgoing Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is confident that his side can reach the Champions League final as they host Borussia Dortmund in the second leg on Tuesday (May 7) evening. Trailing 1-0 after the first leg, PSG will need to win at any cost to stand a chance of reaching the final of the Champions League for the second time in the club’s history. Dortmund, meanwhile, are hoping to reach their third final, having previously won the tournament in 1997 and lost in 2013.
Mbappe confident of PSG progress
«We're confident that we'll come back from that score and reach the final,» Mbappé said at a children's event ahead of the second leg in Paris.
«There's a lot of pressure, which is normal because there's a place in the Champions League final at stake, which is very important. Especially when you consider the club's record in the competition.
»We're aware of the pressure, but the group is extremely calm. We're confident that we'll
come back from that score and reach the final."
«I've often had the same warning from the children. I've heard a lot of 'You've got to win!' And they're right, we have to win.”
Like the quarterfinal second leg, PSG will walk into the semifinal second leg with a task in hand having trailed Barcelona 3-2. However, they did manage to beat the Spanish side 4-1 to advance into the semis and will be hoping for the same.
