According to Foot Mercato, Chancel Mbemba is wanted by Saudi Arabian clubs this summer. The Marseille centre-back has received offers from the Middle East and Saudi Pro League clubs have been in contact with the player’s entourage over a potential move.
Initially, Mbemba did not dismiss the approaches from Saudi clubs. However, he made financial demands which were too high compared to what interested parties in the Gul state were willing to offer the Congolese international. OM leaders have vetoed any potential sale of the former Porto centre-back this summer, and Marcelino sees him as a key part of his defensive structure for next season.
The revolving door has been for Les Phocéens this summer, with several arrivals and departures at OM during this window. The club have already secured the services of Geoffrey Kondogbia and Renan Lodi. A third signing looks set to be announced too, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang agreeing to join the club. On the departure front, Alexis Sanchez, Sead Kolašinac and Arkadiusz Milik have all left the Stade Vélodrome.
