Chelsea have finally received the green light for Sam Jewell to start his new role as their new head of recruitment ahead of the summer transfer window. The 34-year-old has been on gardening leave since accepting a role atStamford Bridge after impressing at Brighton and Hove Albion.
It had been expected that Jewell would begin his work in November, but it has now been reported that he will now start in the summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the former head of recruitment at Brighton, he will start his role atChelsea once the season comes to an end.
Writing in his Daily Briefing, he said: «The green light has arrived for former Brighton head of recruitment Sam Jewell to start his new job at Chelsea.
»Jewell was on gardening leave, but it’s all agreed now to start work for the summer window. He’ll have a senior role as part of multi-club project to select new players."
