Chelsea have been told to sell Mykhailo Mudryk if a suitable offer arrives given their fragile financial predicament. The Blues signed Mudryk in January 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal initially worth £62million that could rise to £88.5million in potential add-ons.
A bright debut against Liverpool at Anfield saw many believe Chelsea had found a gem, however just under 14 months on and it's fair to say he has significantly struggled at Stamford Bridge. Mudryk has managed just five goals and five assists since joining the club, with one of his first competitive goals coming against Arsenal, the club who had been in pole position to sign him until Chelsea swooped in.
The Gunners saw a number of bids rejected for Mudryk in last year's winter window before Chelsea ultimately met his asking price and flew him into London to complete the move all in the space of a few hours. Despite the shocking transfer hijack and his struggles at Chelsea, Mudryk is understood to still have some admirers at Emirates Stadium.
Leandro Trossard was brought in as the alternative to the 23-year-old and the versatile Belgian has proven to be a superb signing for Arsenal, while also costing £40million less than Mudryk. While the boat seems to have passed on Mudryk ever joining Arsenal, William Gallas has made quite the claim about his future if the Gunners were to ever be interested again.
