Gallagher stance
Conor Gallagher has suggested that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea despite interest from Tottenham. The 23-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge recently despite his impressive performances.
After leading the Blues to a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, Gallagher made it abundantly clear that he wants to fight for his place in the Blues' star-studded starting lineup this term. As quoted by the Metro, he said: "I don’t want to stop, I want to keep improving, keep helping the club.
"It was a great moment tonight [captaining the team] and hopefully many more. Everyone’s playing well, obviously a lot of top midfielders [have joined the club], but I’m just playing with quite a lot of confidence at the minute, I feel fit and strong.
"It’s great to have a great squad that we have for this season, it’s really important to help us win games," Gallagher added. "I’m happy with how it’s going so far for myself, I want to keep improving and keep helping the team get more wins."
Colwill call-up
Levi Colwill has been called up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for the first time ahead of games against Scotland and Ukraine. The Chelsea defender spent time training with the senior side earlier this summer before starring in England's Under-21s European Championship win.
The 20-year-old defender signed a new deal with Chelsea after interest from Brighton, following conversations with Mauricio Pochettino and admitted he has ambitions to make the squad for the European Championships in 2024.
