A young Chelsea fan expressed his disappointment with the team's performance in a unique way, holding up a sign at Arsenal that read 'I don't want your shirt'.
The Blues were handed a harsh reality check after their 5-0 defeat by Arsenal, marking their heaviest-ever loss to the Gunners on Tuesday. The match, which took place at the Emirates Stadium, saw Leandro Trossard open the scoring, followed by two goals each from former Chelsea star Kai Havertz and defender Ben White.
The second half of the game was particularly disappointing for the visitors, as many fans who had travelled to north London felt let down. One young supporter made his feelings known by holding up a sign featuring images of the Chelsea kit, with the message: «I don't want your shirt! I want you to want to fight for ours. UTC (Up the Chelsea)».
The image of this young fan's poignant plea quickly spread across social media and even became a talking point during the post-match press conference with Blues captainConor Gallagher. Despite the team's poor results, Gallagher insisted the squad is working hard.
He said: «Well we are definitely putting the effort in. I know how much it means to all the boys, I know it's been said many times, it's a very young squad with not much experience as a team in the Premier League. We have had a lots of ups and downs and we are still improving and working together as a team to get to the next level.
»Today was one of those days that we were nowhere near it. We need to dust ourselves off and also look at the performance and where we can improve and all the mistakes where we can put it right and move onto the next one."
