Christian Pulisic sparkling in Milan debut against Bologna
US National team star Christian Pulisic started Milan’s Serie A opener against Bologna and he set the scene on fire in the early minutes.
He joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea on a permanent basis earlier this summer and with Samuel Chukwueze on the bench, the American was handed the first start of the season at the Dall’Ara against Thiago Motta’s Rossoblu.
While it was Olivier Giroud who scored Milan’s first goal, Pulisic was heavily involved. It was his switch from the right side of the park that met fellow new signing Tijjani Reijnders, whose cut-back on the first touch helped Giroud put the ball past a helpless Lukas Skorupski.
Minutes later, it was Giroud who combined beautifully with Pulisic for the second goal. Pulisic came inside from the right side of the pitch, dazzling defenders and combined with a one-two with his ex-Chelsea teammate before unleashing a fierce thunderbolt from some distance out and finding the top corner.
Regularly involved in the attack, Pulisic is likely to become an important part of Stefano Pioli’s side this season.
