Arran Healy, the son of former Republic of Ireland international Colin, has signed his first professional contract with Cork City.
The 19-year-old follows in the footsteps of his father, who made 172 appearances for the Leesiders across two spells, winning the FAI Cup in 2016 before managing the club to the First Division title back in 2022.
Arran has featured for the first team on three occasions so far this campaign as the Rebel Army march towards another First Division title - they are currently eight points ahead of second place UCD - which would secure a return to the top-flight of Irish football for 2025.
“I’m absolutely delighted," Healy told the club's official website.
"It’s something that I’ve worked my whole life for really. I’ve been at the club since I was 13, I’m now 19, so this is a huge achievement for me, my family, and everyone that has helped me over the years.
“This is my dream, this is something that I’ve always wanted to do.”
City boss Tim Clancy added that he is happy to tie the talented young midfielder down on a permanent deal.
“Arran is an exciting young player, and one that Cork City supporters will already know a lot about," said Clancy.
"He has featured a few times already this season, and has impressed with his performance, so we are all delighted to reward him with his first professional contract.”
